On Sunday, July 30th, 2023, at 8:20 pm, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported suspicious person at Target, 3000 Countryside Dr, Turlock, who was known to shoplift and was filling up a bin with merchandise and baby formula.

While officers were responding, they were advised that loss prevention had identified the woman as Destiny Stiles, 24, of Fresno, and that she had stolen about $2,700 worth of merchandise from the Atwater Target about an hour prior.

Officers were then advised that Stiles was locally wanted for grand theft, while she also had three felony bench warrants out of Fresno. The first was a no-bail one for grand theft, the second was a $15,000 one for burglary and grand theft, while the third was a $41,000 one for possession of ammunition by a prohibited person.

When officers arrived on scene, Stiles dropped the bin that she had been filling up and exited the business without any merchandise.

Officers contacted Stiles and determined that she hadn’t committed any new crimes, however, arrested her on her want and warrants.

Stiles was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on the charge of grand theft, as well as her warrants.
