Lacey Chabert of “Mean Girls,” “Party of Five” to Star in Turlock Movie

Lacey Chabert of film and TV fame will play the lead in the Turlock's first feature film, producers officially confirmed Wednesday.

The confirmation follows numerous sightings of Chabert around town.

Chabert will play the role of Gweneth in the family-friendly romantic comedy film, which is being written and directed by Corbin Bernsen of “Psych” and “L.A. Law” fame.

Gweneth is a single woman tired of dealing with jerks in bars, who turns to a Christian dating website to find Mr. Right. There's only one problem – he's a pastor's son, and she's not as religious as she let on in her profile.

Chabert is perhaps best known for her role as Claudia Salinger in the critically-acclaimed Fox TV drama “Party of Five.” She also memorably portrayed Gretchen Wieners, the girl who was trying to make fetch happen, in the film “Mean Girls.”

Chabert has had a very successful voice acting career, serving as the voice of Meg in the first 12 episodes of “Family Guy,” and Eliza Thornberry in “The Wild Thornberrys.”

She also has appeared in the films “Lost In Space,” “Not Another Teen Movie,” “Daddy Day Care,” and numerous other productions.

Chabert is 31. She was born in Purvis, Mississippi.
