A man suspected of multiple burglaries in Turlock is in custody after being involved in a pursuit with Turlock police on Wednesday night.

Jason Draper, 33, was arrested for burglary, possession of methamphetamine, and evading.

Draper was allegedly the suspect in a burglary from June 1 in the 600 block of E. Olive Avenue.

The victims came home at approximately 5 p.m. to find a vehicle parked in their driveway and the front door kicked in. The victims immediately called the authorities, said Turlock police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis.

While on the phone, Draper exited the residence and fled in his vehicle. A relative of the victim was able to snap a photo of the Draper and his vehicle. The photos were provided to the investigating officer, said Lewis.

Draper struck again on Wednesday at approximately 7:50 p.m., when he allegedly broke into a home in the 2400 block of Colorado Avenue.

One victim was home when Draper allegedly broke in, but thanks to some security cameras, the victim was able to escape and call police before he entered the home.

On Wednesday, Draper was allegedly spotted driving by police near the intersection of Geer Road and Canal Drive around 11:51 p.m.

When officers attempted to stop Draper, he allegedly fled and a pursuit ensued. The pursuit made its way to Sharkey’s Billiards, located on the corner of Hawkeye Avenue and Dels Lane, where Draper allegedly crashed his vehicle.

Draper then allegedly fled on foot. The suspected was eventually apprehended by officers and arrested.
