Lint collection device fire extends into building Monday morning

On Monday, October 24th, 2022, at 10:02 am, the Turlock Fire Department, Modesto Fire Department, Stanislaus Regional Fire Investigations Unit, Turlock Police Department, and American Medical Response were dispatched to a reported commercial working structure fire at 2701 Lassiter Ln, Turlock.

When crews arrived on scene, they found a lint collection device fire outside of the building that had extended into the building.

Firefighters began fire attack and were able to bring the fire under control within about 30 minutes, extinguishing it shortly thereafter.

Firefighters remained on scene for an extended period of time after the fire was out conducting overhaul, investigation, and other post fire activities.

The Turlock Irrigation District and Pacific Gas and Electric Company responded to the scene to secure utilities, while the Modesto Fire Department and Turlock Rural Fire Protection District provided city coverage for the duration of the incident.

No injuries were reported.

The cause and origin of the fire remain unknown.
