Thanks to some hard work by Turlock firefighters and police, the bleachers at the Julien Little League baseball field have been repaired.
The bleachers were repaired by volunteers who spent their Saturday sanding and painting the new wooden bleachers. Turlock Firefighters Local #2434 and Turlock Associated Police Officers donated the funds for the materials for the repairs.
The field’s old aluminum bleachers were stolen sometime between midnight and 7:00 a.m. on Feb. 20.
After the theft, Opening Day for the Turlock American Little League was pushed back one week to March 8. Although the bleachers are now fixed, Opening Day will remain March 8 due to weather.
Police currently have no suspects and anyone with information on the thefts is asked to contact the Turlock Police Department at 209-668-5550.
