At about 1:34pm Friday afternoon, Turlock Police responded to a disturbance in progress in front of Memo’s Cocina & Tequila Bar in the 100 block of W. Main Street.

The caller reported that there was a man outside the business throwing things around and hitting the glass window, scaring customers and employees.

Officers arrived on scene and contacted Michael Gonzales, 39, of Turlock, who they immediately recognized. Police deal with Gonzales regularly and he’s previously been featured on A&E’s show Booked: First Day In.

Gonzales had to be held to the ground to get him under control and detain him in handcuffs.

Through the investigation, it was determined that Gonzales had caused some property damage, although no one wanted to place him under citizen’s arrest for vandalism. Nevertheless, he displayed objective symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol.

Gonzales was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on the charge of disorderly conduct.

It’s worth nothing that graveyard officers had been out with Gonzales early that same morning around midnight when he had been causing issues at the Walgreens in the 1500 block of Geer Road.

At the time, Gonzales had just started drinking and blew into a preliminary alcohol screening device, which indicated he had a blood alcohol content of .07%. Gonzales was able to take care of himself and been advised to leave the area.
