Luz Rico Gutierrez, age 86, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 in Turlock, California. Luz was born in Mexico on July 22, 1935 to Gelacio Rico and Ramona Arredondo. Luz was the oldest of 9 siblings. She married her husband, Juan Gutierrez, in Mexico. Luz loved gardening, cooking in prep of hosting family gatherings, and keeping in close contact with her loved ones.
Luz was preceded in death by her husband, Juan Gutierrez; and her son, Jose Gutierrez.
Luz is survived by her children, Barbara Resendiz, Macario Gutierrez, Jamie Gutierrez, Michael Gutierrez; her 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
A visitation is being held on Monday, July 11, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Turlock Funeral Home, 425 N. Soderquist Rd., Turlock, in the Main Chapel.
A funeral service is being held on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Turlock Funeral Home, in the Main Chapel. Following the service, Luz will be laid to rest at Turlock Memorial Park, 575 N. Soderquist Rd., Turlock.
