Main Street Fire Determined to be “Suspicious”

The Turlock Fire Department is currently investigating a suspicious fire at a vacant home on the 800 block of West Main Street on Tuesday night.

Fire crews responded at approximately 10:31 p.m. to find the basement of the vacant home well involved in the fire.

According to the Turlock Fire Department, the fire spread from the basement to the main level through holes in the floor.

The fire was contained within 20 minutes of the Turlock Fire Department arriving.

At this time, the cause is unknown as there was no power or natural gas connected to the vacant residence, reports the Turlock Fire Department.

The cause, however, has been determined to be suspicious in nature.

This residence, which has been vacant for several years, has been burned at least three times in the past three years, according to the Turlock Fire Department.
