A 22-year-old man is facing assault charges after allegedly hitting a female in the head with a glass cup at the Nagina Palace on Wednesday evening.

At approximately 7:44 p.m., Turlock police responded to Nagina Palace, located at 1142 W. Main St., on the report of an assault.

Mandeep Singh, 22, allegedly hit a female victim in the head with a glass cup, according to the Turlock Police Department.

Singh and the victim were allegedly involved in a verbal argument over a food order, and it escalated until Singh allegedly assaulted the victim, said Turlock police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis.

Singh was arrested and booked for assault with a deadly weapon.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, according to the Turlock Police Department, but only suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
