On Saturday, May 7th, 2022, at 9:58 pm, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported assault and battery in progress at Evergreen Packaging, 1500 W Main St, Turlock.

When officers arrived on scene, they made contact with one of the involved subjects, Eric Collins, 41, of Turlock, who told them that the other subject had already left and that they were not fighting, but that he was just simply helping him up.

The officer had his dispatcher run Collins’ name, and he returned with a felony warrant for joyriding, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia, and resisting a peace officer.

Collins was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on his warrant.

No victim of any assault later called to report that they were a victim.
