Man arrested after attacking other man, attempting to resist officers, and giving officers fake name

money

On Tuesday, October 11th, 2022, at 5:46 pm, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported assault and battery in progress near the intersection of W Linwood Ave and Lander Ave, Turlock.

Officers arrived in the area and were told by the victim that another man had struck him and took off on foot.

The suspect, later identified as Sebastian Gonzalez, 29, of Stockton, was located down the road by officers. Officers attempted to make contact with Gonzalez and he attempted to flee from them on foot, however, he was quickly arrested without further incident.

Gonzalez originally lied about his name to officers, however, his true identity was eventually discovered.

Gonzalez was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of battery, obstructing or resisting a peace officer or other public officer, and falsely identifying to a peace officer.
