At about 11:47pm Sunday, Turlock Police responded to a mental person at a residence in the 1200 block of Paseo Belleza.

When officers arrived on scene, they learned that there had been a verbal disturbance between Tianwei Zhang, 29, of Turlock, and his father, which included Zhang making threats to commit murder.

They also learned that earlier during the evening, prior to the disturbance, Zhang had stabbed his father with a pair of scissors.

Zhang was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on the charge of attempted murder.
