Man arrested after attempting to break into bank’s overnight drop box early Tuesday morning

On Tuesday, December 14th, 2021, at 3:23 am, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported burglary in progress at Chase Bank, 2091 Geer Rd, Turlock, where a subject was seen by a camera monitoring service attempting to break into the bank’s overnight drop box in the vestibule.

As officers were responding, the subject walked out of the bank and out of the view of any cameras. The caller provided a description of the subject and officers got out with him and others nearby. The one matching the description was identified as Kenneth Chandler, 39, of Bakersfield.

After a brief investigation which led to the discovery of burglary tools, Chandler was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of burglary and possession of burglary tools.
