On Wednesday, June 21st, 2023, at 9:15 am, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported suspicious vehicle at Pedretti Park, 2400 N Tegner Rd, Turlock.

When officers arrived on scene, they found and contacted several subjects associated with three different vehicles, including a man later identified as Colin Craig, 39, of Turlock.

Craig had been observed cutting into the engine block of a vehicle. He stated that the vehicle belonged to his friend and that he had been working on it for him, however, did not know his friend’s name.

Through the investigation, officers learned that the vehicle had been reported stolen.

Craig was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on the charge of buying or receiving a stolen vehicle.
