On Monday, May 2nd, 2022, at 4:17 pm, a Turlock Police officer near the intersection of Kenwood Ave and E Canal Dr, Turlock, observed a vehicle violate the California Vehicle Code, so he made a traffic stop on it.
The officer made contact with the vehicle’s driver, Brain Magniez, 41, of Hilmar, and became suspicious about the vehicle being stolen as it matched the description of one they had been looking for.
After a brief investigation and assistance from the Stanislaus County Auto Theft Taskforce, the officer determined that the vehicle was indeed the stolen vehicle they had been looking for.
Magniez was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of receiving a stolen vehicle.
The vehicle was released back to its owner. It was not wrecked, stripped, or burned.
