At about 10:07pm Wednesday, Turlock Police Officer Khounlivong located a stolen vehicle parked at Arco AMPM in the 2200 block of Lander Avenue.

The vehicle’s sole occupant, later identified as Juan Zamora, 27, of Livingston, was found to be sleeping in the driver’s seat.

A high-risk stop was conducted where Zamora was woken up and detained at gunpoint.

The vehicle was confirmed to be stolen and Zamora was arrested.

During a search of Zamora’s person incident to arrest, Khounlivong located narcotics.

Zamora was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of auto theft, buying or receiving a stolen vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia, and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.

The vehicle’s owner arrived at the scene a short time later and was reunited with it. It wasn’t wrecked, stripped, or burned, and still had both license plates attached to it.
