Man arrested after breaking into semi-truck with owner asleep in it Saturday morning

On Saturday, August 6th, 2022, at 9:51 am, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported auto burglary that had just occurred at Comfort Suites, 191 N Tully Rd, Turlock.

The victim was asleep in his semi-truck behind the business when Manuel Naranjo, 46, of Livingston, broke his passenger side window, gained entry, and stole his property. When the victim woke up and confronted Naranjo, he fled on a bicycle.

The victim followed Naranjo until officers were able to catch up to him and stop him near the intersection of S Broadway and Market St.

During the investigation, some of the victim’s property was found on Naranjo and returned back to its rightful owner.

Naranjo was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of burglary and vandalism.
