Man arrested after breaking out liquor store window early Thursday morning

On Thursday, November 17th, 2022, at 2:11 am, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported commercial burglary that had just occurred at Liquor Locker, 1590 Lander Ave, Turlock.

When officers arrived on scene, they found a window that had been broken, however, no burglary had actually occurred since entry had not been made. Officers took a report.

That night, at 10:03 pm, officers went back to the business to conduct follow-up investigation and were informed by the business owner that the man who had broken their window had just walked by the business. Officers were given a description of the man and began checking the area for him.

Officers eventually made contact with a man near Save Mart, 1631 Lander Ave, who matched the description of the suspect. He was identified as Hector Vasquez, 30, of Turlock.

When officers had their dispatcher run Vasquez, he returned with a $1,000 misdemeanor bench warrant for trespassing.

Vasquez was arrested and a search of his person and property incident to arrest led to the discovery of drug paraphernalia.

Vasquez was transported back to Liquor Locker where he was positively identified by the business owner as the man who had broken their window.

Vasquez was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of vandalism and possession of drug paraphernalia, as well as his warrant.
