On Saturday, January 14th, 2023, at 10:03 pm, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported larceny in progress at Osborn Two-Way Immersion Academy, 201 N Soderquist Rd, Turlock, after a man had been seen on a live surveillance feed carrying a duffle bag through the construction site on campus.

Officers arrived on scene and deployed a drone over the campus in an attempt to locate the suspect. Through the live drone feed, officers spotted a man later identified as Jonathan Rock, 25, of Turlock, tampering with a Conex box’s door.

Rock eventually began walking away from the Conex box carrying a duffle bag, which he eventually dropped to begin running after spotting officers.

Rock was given lawful orders to stop running and to surrender, however, he failed to comply with them.

Officers were unable to get to Rock due to the fence surrounding the campus, so they continued using the drone to track him. He eventually jumped a fence and entered the Turlock Memorial Park where officers were able to capture him.

Afterward, officers were allowed into the construction site by an employee, where they discovered that the Conex box’s lock had been broken and copper wire had been removed from inside.

The duffle bag was recovered and stolen property was found in it. Additional stolen property was also recovered from Rock’s vehicle which was parked nearby.

Rock was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of burglary and obstructing or resisting a public officer in the discharge of their duty.
