On Sunday, November 27th, 2022, at 5:49 am, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a commercial alarm at Platt Electric, 551 N Tully Rd, Turlock.

When officers arrived on scene, they located a cut lock on the north side of the business and a hole cut into the side of the building.

Eventually, a man later identified as John Boston, 50, of Ceres, emerged from the building through a door and began running southbound through a fenced area of the business. A foot pursuit ensued as Boston jumped over a fence and continued fleeing. A short time later, Boston was eventually caught.

Boston was arrested but then released to be transported to a local hospital due to a facial injury he had suffered during the incident. Body-worn camera video was later reviewed and it was confirmed that the injury was not caused by officers, but rather by Boston striking an unknown object during the foot pursuit.

A few hours later, officers took another burglary at Edges Electrical Group, 1200 W Glenwood Ave, which was discovered late. Boston was identified as a suspect in that one as well and it was determined to have happened about an hour prior to the one he was caught during.

Boston is currently wanted on charges of burglary, obstructing or resisting a peace officer or other public officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled substance. He will be sought after he is released from the hospital.
