Man arrested after crashing into tree due to Hydrocodone overdose early Sunday morning

On Sunday, May 1st, 2022, at 3:43 am, the Turlock Police Department and American Medical Response were dispatched to a reported vehicle collision with unknown injuries at a residence in the 900 block of E Main St, Turlock.

When crews arrived on scene, they found a single vehicle involved, a white GMC SUV, which had collided into a tree.

The vehicle had a single occupant, Ismael Flores, 28, of Modesto. Flores had suffered minor injuries and was also found to be overdosing on Hydrocodone. He was ground transported by American Medical Response to a local hospital.

Prior to Flores being transported, officers attempted to run him through standardized field sobriety tests, however, he was unable to complete them. He was arrested.

The vehicle sustained moderate damage and was deemed inoperable as a result of the collision, requiring it to be towed away.

It is currently unknown how the collision occurred, however, it was determined to be the result of a Hydrocodone overdose.

After Flores was released from the hospital, he was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of driving under the influence of drugs.
