|

On Saturday, April 22nd, 2023, at 10:08 pm, a Stanislaus County Sheriff’s deputy near Sinclair Gas & Dino Mart, 1405 N Golden State Bvd, Turlock, observed a man driving a vehicle violate the California Vehicle Code, so he made a traffic stop on him.

The man, later identified as Sanchez Angelo, 36, of Turlock, quickly pulled into the parking lot of the gas station, exited his vehicle, and began walking away from the deputy. The Turlock Police Department was requested to assist.

After a brief foot pursuit, Angelo was arrested in the Sunrise Inn parking lot just across the street with minimal force used.

During the foot pursuit, the deputy noticed Angelo appearing to discard something, however, a subsequent search of the area didn’t lead to anything being discovered.

Angelo was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on the charge of obstructing or resisting a public officer in the discharge of their duty. Additionally, his vehicle was impounded.

During an intake search at the jail, custodial deputies discovered what appeared to be Xanax in Angelo’s possession. Further charges will be sought after lab results return.
