On Thursday, July 20th, 2023, at 10:23 pm, a Turlock Police officer near the intersection of N Golden State Blvd and Twentieth Century Blvd, Turlock, observed a man driving a vehicle violate the California Vehicle Code, so she attempted to make a traffic stop on him.

The man driving the vehicle failed to stop for the officer and continued driving normally to Fulkerth Rd and N Tully Rd, where a different officer who spoke Spanish pulled up alongside him at a red light. The officer determined that the man was Spanish-speaking only and told him to stop in the Bank of the West parking lot.

The man pulled into the Bank of the West parking lot and was ordered out of his vehicle. He was detained without incident and identified as Fabio Estrada, 46, of Turlock.

When officers had their dispatcher run Estrada, they discovered that he didn’t have a valid driver’s license.

Estrada was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of fleeing or attempting to elude a peace officer by vehicle and driving without a valid driver’s license.

Additionally, Estrada’s vehicle was impounded.
