On Tuesday, October 4th, 2022, at 7:46 am, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported suspicious incident at Balswick’s Brake & Front End, 1620 Countryside Dr, Turlock, after a man had left a vehicle behind at the business, walked across the street, and was acting strange.

While officers were responding, the caller provided dispatch with the license plate on the vehicle. Dispatch ran it and the vehicle it was associated with returned stolen.

Officers arrived in the area and made contact with a man, later identified as Hayden Fay, 29, of Colorado, next to Applebee’s Grill + Bar, 2501 Fulkerth Rd.

Fay was detained in handcuffs for further investigation and was later determined to have indeed been the man who had left the vehicle at Balswick’s.

Fay was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle.
