David Fransen

On Tuesday, December 13th, 2022, at 7:09 am, the Turlock Fire Department and Turlock Police Department were dispatched to a reported potential structure fire at Spin N Clean Laundromat, 755 Wayside Dr, Turlock, after a man had been seen on the roof possibly trying to light something on fire.

Officers arrived on scene first and made contact with the man, who was eventually identified as Dustyn Luke, 33, of Mariposa.

Luke refused to get off the roof and there were no sign of anything on fire at the time, so officers did not immediately go up to him and attempted to negotiate with him.

After a little more than an hour, Luke eventually climbed down the ladder and was detained in handcuffs for further investigation.

Officers determined that something on the roof had been set on fire at one point, however, had been extinguished prior to their arrival.

Luke was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of arson and trespassing.
