At about 11:53pm Saturday night, Turlock Police responded to shots heard in the 400 block of Lewis Street.

While officers were responding, the caller called back and stated they had surveillance video showing the passenger of a black GMC SUV firing shots off into the air.

Officers arrived on scene and located six shell casings in the roadway.

While officers were conducting their investigation, the black GMC SUV returned to the scene, drove over it, and tightly squeezed past a patrol vehicle blocking the roadway.

The caller flagged down an officer and told him they believed it was the suspect vehicle.

An officer was able to catch up to the vehicle as it turned eastbound on Angelus Street from S. Orange Street, and eventually pulled into D’s Liquors.

A high-risk stop was conducted where the vehicle’s two occupants were detained at gunpoint.

Both detainees were identified, including passenger Pablo Flores, 47, of Ceres.

During a subsequent probable cause search of the vehicle, officers located a loaded SAR 9mm handgun.

Through the investigation, Flores was determined to be the shooter.

Flores was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of carrying a concealed firearm, carrying a loaded firearm, and discharging a firearm in a grossly negligent manner which could result in injury or death to a person.

The other detainee was released.

No injuries were reported.
