At about 11:41am Wednesday morning, Turlock Police responded to a disturbance in progress in the 400 block of Clifford Avenue.

When officers arrived on scene, they contacted the victim and several witnesses.

Through the investigation, it was determined that the victim and suspect, later identified as Joseph Bonds, 34, of Livermore, had been in a verbal disturbance that had escalated when Bonds hit the victim with a piece of cement, causing an injury. Bonds then stole the victim’s sweater and took off.

Officers located Bonds nearby a short time later.

Bonds was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm and robbery.
