At about 9:30am Monday, Turlock Police responded to a trash dumping in progress behind the Amazon Fulfillment Center in the 3200 block of Fulkerth Road.

The caller was an Amazon employee, who reported that he had gotten info from another employee that he was out with someone who was dumping a bunch of trash on the canal bank.

Officers arrived on scene and contacted a man who identified himself as Efrain Perez, 38, of Delhi.

During the contact, Perez was found to be in possession of a .45 caliber Springfield Armory handgun.

During a subsequent vehicle search, officers located five additional firearms, including a shotgun and rifle, and narcotics.

Three of the six firearms were what are commonly referred to as “ghost guns,” while none of the other three that did have serial numbers were registered to Perez.

Perez was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of carrying a concealed firearm, possession of a large-capacity magazine, possession of a controlled substance while armed with a loaded and operable firearm, and possession of an assault weapon.
