Man arrested for attempted murder and other felonies against girlfriend after police receive tip from victim’s sister Wednesday afternoon

On Wednesday, December 28th, 2022, at 1:26 pm, the Turlock Police Department was made aware of a suspicious incident at a residence in the 1000 block of E Springer Dr, Turlock, after a woman reported that she’s been receiving text messages from her sister stating that she’s being held against her will by her boyfriend.

Officers thoroughly investigated the allegations for several hours and eventually conducted a tactical operation at the residence at 9:22 pm that night.

During the operation, two women and a man were removed from the residence. It’s unclear if either of the two women were the victim, however, the man was identified as the suspect, Ramiro Ramirez, 29, of Turlock.

Ramirez peacefully surrendered and was detained for further investigation.

Eventually, Ramirez was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of attempted murder, domestic violence inflicting corporal injury, false imprisonment, assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm, rape, threatening to commit a crime which will result in death or great bodily injury to another person, and vandalism.

No further information is available as the Turlock Police Department doesn’t have a public information officer available until after the start of the new year.

The investigation remains ongoing, anyone with information that could assist in it is encouraged to call Officer Gustavo Gomez at 209-668-1200.
