On Friday, July 29th, 2022, at 4:20 pm, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported vandalism in progress at Broadway Park, 501 N Broadway, Turlock, after a man had been seen tampering with a drinking fountain.

Officers arrived on scene and detained Guillermo Hernandez, 31, of Turlock in handcuffs after he was pointed out by witnesses.

Officers began investigating and determined that the drinking fountain had been tampered with, however, there was no actual damage to it.

While officers were speaking with Hernandez, he was acting extremely erratic and displaying objective symptoms of being under the influence of drugs.

Hernandez was arrested and placed in the back of a patrol vehicle where he began banging his head and body against everything. For his own safety, he was at that point placed in a “The WRAP” restraint device.

Hernandez was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of public intoxication.
