On Friday, January 6th, 2023, at 4:35 am, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported trespass in progress at Charity Thrift Store, 402 E Main St, Turlock, after a security guard had spotted a man in the dumpster enclosure and placed him under citizen’s arrest.

Officers arrived on scene and began investigating, asking the suspect, Joshua Jaen, 30, of Turlock, to identify himself. Jaen originally gave someone else’s actual name, however, ended up admitting to who he really was.

When officers had their dispatcher run Jaen, they discovered that he had a $25,000 local misdemeanor bench warrant for battery.

Jaen was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jaen was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of false personation, possession of drug paraphernalia, and trespassing, as well as his warrant.
