On Friday, June 25th, 2021, at approximately 10:50 pm, a Turlock Police officer on patrol in the area of E Linwood Ave and Lander Ave observed a vehicle fail to stop at a red light, in violation of the California Vehicle Code. The officer attempted to make a traffic stop on the vehicle, but the driver failed to yield and a pursuit ensued.

The driver led the officer eastbound on E Linwood Ave before making a northbound turn onto Golf Rd and stopping at the Shasta Motel located at 1580 S First St. Other officers arrived on scene and conducted a high risk stop, taking the driver, identified as Michael Tucker, 34, of Turlock, into custody. Speeds during the pursuit remained under 60 miles per hour and two stop signs were ran. Tucker was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of flight from a peace officer with disregard to public safety and driving with a suspended license.
