On Thursday, August 4th, 2022, at 12:08 am, a Turlock Police officer near Starbucks, 824 N Golden State Blvd, Turlock, made contact with a man which he recognized and knew to be wanted for a recent shoplifting incident.

The officer had his dispatcher run the man, Dexter Olson, 31, of Denair, and he returned to be wanted for grand theft.

The incident had occurred on Sunday, July 3rd, at Target, 3000 Countryside Dr, Turlock, when Olson had used the fire exit of the business to leave with unpaid vacuums and other smaller appliances with a total value exceeding $950.

The vehicle which Olson had gotten into to flee with was registered to him which is what ultimately led to his identification.

A loss prevention officer had submitted an online report regarding the incident two days later which was investigated yesterday, Wednesday, August 3rd.

Olson was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of grand theft.
