Man arrested on felony warrant after screaming on CSUS campus Saturday afternoon

On Saturday, November 19th, 2022, at 4:33 pm, the Stanislaus State Police Department and Turlock Police Department were dispatched to a security check near the Theatre Building, 1 University Cir, Turlock, after a man had been seen hallucinating and screaming, possibly under the influence of drugs.

When officers arrived on scene, they found and made contact with a man who identified himself as Raymond Cornejo, 50, of Turlock.

When officers had their dispatcher run Cornejo, he returned with two bench warrants out of Turlock. The first one was a $100,500 felony one for unlawfully causing a fire, while the second one was a $25,000 misdemeanor one for obstructing or resisting a peace officer or other public officer.

Cornejo was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of public intoxication, as well as his warrants.
