At about 12:10am Monday morning, Turlock Police, Turlock Fire, and American Medical Response responded to an overdose outside a residence in the 700 block of W. Olive Avenue.

When units arrived on scene, they contacted the patient who was sitting in a vehicle. He was alert and conscious, refusing treatment or transport.

Also seated in the vehicle with the patient was Randall McCartney, 36, of Turlock, someone who officers immediately recognized due to him being on post release community supervision.

When officers had their dispatcher run McCartney, they discovered that he had a $14,000 felony bench warrant out of Fresno County for receiving stolen property, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of methamphetamines.

McCartney was arrested and a search incident to arrest led to the discovery of additional methamphetamines.

McCartney was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on the charge of possession of methamphetamines, as well as his warrant.
