Man arrested on felony warrant for forgery against elderly victim after being recognized by officer Wednesday afternoon

On Wednesday, June 21st, 2023, at 4:46 pm, a Turlock Police officer near Carl’s Jr., 100 N Walnut Rd, Turlock, observed and recognized a man who he believed he a felony warrant, so he began following him and had his dispatcher run him.

Sure enough, the man, Nergal Karam, 35, of Turlock, returned with a $125,500 local felony bench warrant for forgery and violation of a provision of law proscribing theft, embezzlement, forgery, fraud, or identity theft by a person other than a caretaker of an elder or dependent adult.

Karam was contacted in front of the business and arrested without incident.

Karam was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on his warrant.
