Man arrested on four warrants after allegedly stealing from outside home Thursday afternoon

On Thursday, April 13th, 2023, at 12:12 pm, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported larceny that had just occurred at a residence in the 1300 block of N Golden State Blvd, Turlock, with the victim following the suspect while in a disturbance with him.

The victim eventually stopped following the suspect and returned to his residence and officers contacted the suspect a few minutes later near the intersection of N Golden State Blvd and Almond Ave.

Officers identified the suspect as Raymond Chilcoat, 59, of Merced, and had their dispatcher run him. They discovered that he had four misdemeanor bench warrants. The first was a $3,000 local one for obstructing or resisting a public officer in the discharge of their duty and removing a shopping or laundry cart from the premises of its establishment, the second was a $2,550 local one for obstructing or resisting a public officer in the discharge of their duty, the third was a $2,550 local one for possession of a shopping or laundry cart that has been removed from the premises of its establishment, and the fourth was a $25,000 one out of Livingston for vandalism.

Chilcoat was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on his warrants.

Exactly what happened with the larceny remains unclear to us, however, Chilcoat was not arrested for it.
