On Saturday, January 7th, 2023, at 8:38 pm, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported burglary in progress at a residence in the 600 block of E Tuolumne Rd, Turlock, after a woman had arrived home and found a man sitting at her table.

When officers arrived on scene, they found and made contact with Mark Holtzclaw, 52, of Modesto, who seemed confused and believed that he was in his own home.

We were able to locate records that indicate that Holtzclaw does live in the 600 block of a street named Tuolumne, however, it’s Tuolumne Blvd in Modesto, not E Tuolumne Rd in Turlock.

When officers had their dispatcher run Holtzclaw, they discovered that he had a no-bail misdemeanor bench warrant out of Stanislaus County for driving with a blood alcohol of .08 or greater.

Holtzclaw was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on his warrant.

Being that Holtzclaw was confused, legitimately believed that he was in his own home, and had a reasonable explanation for believing so, no new crimes had been committed and no new charges were filed against him.
