At about 11:00pm Friday, Officer Khounlivong made a traffic stop in the 500 block of Almond Avenue.

Khounlivong made contact with and identified the vehicle’s three occupants, including driver Victor Gomez, 55, of Paramount

During the stop, Khounlivong noticed a leaded cane wedged into the side of the driver seat.

Khounlivong removed Gomez from his vehicle and searched him, locating a fixed-blade knife and narcotics concealed on his person.

Gomez was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of possession of a leaded cane, carrying a concealed dirk or dagger, possession of methamphetamines, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
