Man arrested on six warrants after allegedly spitting on gas station clerk Wednesday morning

On Wednesday, June 14th, 2023, at 7:55 am, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported disturbance at Arco AMPM, 1801 Lander Ave, Turlock, after a man who was cussing and yelling at people had spit on the clerk after she had asked him to leave.

By the time officers arrived on scene, the man had left, however, was located nearby and contacted.

The man was identified as Vance Haws, 29, of Modesto.

When officers had their dispatcher run Haws, they discovered that he had six bench warrants. The first was a $100,000 felony one out of Kern County for attempting to drive or take a vehicle without the consent of its owner, petty theft, and vandalism, the second was a $75,050 one for violation of post release community supervision, the third was a $75,050 one for vandalism and using or being under the influence of a controlled substance, the fourth was a $5,000 one for vandalism, the fifth was a $11,000 one for battery and violating a domestic violence protective order, and the sixth was a $1,000 one for possession of drug paraphernalia and trespassing.

Haws was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on his warrants.
