At about 1:47am Thursday morning, Turlock Police responded to an occupied suspicious vehicle on Colorado Avenue.

The caller reported that there were two men in a white Cadillac SUV who they hadn’t seen before and that one of the men had then gotten out and began walking around the area.

Officer Kauffman arrived on scene and contacted one of the men, whom he identified and discovered to be on searchable probation for grand theft.

Through the investigation, the other man was identified as Jason Larsen, 36, of Turlock.

When Kauffman had his dispatcher run Larsen, he discovered that he had a no-bail felony bench warrant out of Modesto for robbery and assault with a firearm.

Other officers began searching the area for Larsen and Sergeant Hernandez was flagged down by a witness reporting that Larsen had taken off running toward a nearby church.

As Hernandez drove through the neighborhood across the street from the church, he got out with someone who had been running and looked similar to Larsen at Brookestone Drive and Heathernoel Way.

The man was stopped and stated his name was Anthony, however, he was able to be positively identified as Larsen through a booking photo. It should also be noted that Larsen has a history of lying about who he is.

Larsen was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on his warrant.
