On Saturday, November 19th, 2022, at 10:13 am, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported weapon offense in progress at Turlock Memorial Park, 575 N Soderquist Rd, Turlock, after a security guard had seen three men on the property drinking alcohol with one of them possibly having a handgun in their waistband.

Officers arrived on scene and the security guard pointed out the men to officers, including the one who he believed had the handgun.

The officers made contact with and identified the three, including Alejandro Garcia, 25, of Atwater, and Jesse Medina, 27, of Turlock.

A subsequent search of Garcia’s vehicle led to the discovery of the handgun the security guard had thought he had seen.

When the officer had his dispatcher run the three, Medina returned with two $2,000 misdemeanor bench warrants out of Modesto for theft.

Both Garcia and Medina were arrested, Garcia was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of carrying a concealed firearm and failure by a defendant to timely file a prohibited persons relinquishment form, while Medina was released on a citation.
