On Wednesday, July 12th, 2023, at 11:18 am, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported disturbance at a residence in the 700 block of E Minnesota Ave, Turlock.

When officers arrived on scene, they contacted the caller who told them that her estranged husband, Benjamin Chipponeri, 39, of Turlock, had arrived at her residence and entered it without her permission. Chipponeri then made some suspicious comments to his ex-wife before fleeing the residence with their six-year-old daughter whom he no longer had custody of.

Detectives were notified of the incident and quickly began their investigation.

Within just a few hours, detectives were able to track down Chipponeri at his mother’s residence in Ceres. They went out there and located both him and his daughter.

Chipponeri was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of burglary, kidnapping, and taking or concealing a child from their lawful custodian.

The daughter was reunited with her mother unharmed.
