At about 9:08pm Friday night, Turlock Police responded to a disturbance in the parking lot of the Turlock Public Library in the 500 block of Minaret Avenue.

When officers arrived on scene, they began their investigation and determined that there had been a domestic violence incident between Jme Cunha, 35, of Turlock, and the victim.

Cunha was also found to have injuries that had been self-inflicted after he discovered that the victim had called police.

When Cunha was advised that he was under arrest and going to jail, he began to assault and spit on three different officers.

Cunha was eventually placed in a WRAP restraint device and a protective helmet was put on his head for his own protection. He was then transported by American Medical Response to a local hospital for medical clearance.

Afterwards, Cunha was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of domestic violence inflicting corporal injury, kidnapping, attempting to deter a peace officer from performing their duties by means of violence, resisting a peace officer, and three counts of battery.
