Man expected to survive after being shot in the chest at home Monday night

On Monday, March 13th, 2023, at 8:55 pm, the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office, Turlock Rural Fire Protection District, and American Medical Response were dispatched to a reported assault with a firearm that had just occurred at a residence in the 700 block of S Daubenberger Rd, Turlock.

Deputies arrived to find a Hispanic man in his mid-20s suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound to the chest. Deputies rendered first aid to the victim until relieved by paramedics, who ultimately called for PHI Air Medical Services to air transport the victim to a local hospital.

The victim underwent surgery shortly after the shooting and is expected to survive.

No suspect information or motive is available at this point.
