At about 10:27am Wednesday morning, Turlock Fire, Turlock Police, and American Medical Response responded to a sick person in the alleyway behind the 300 block of W. Syracuse Avenue.

The caller reported there was a man down and unconscious, who they believed was deceased.

“When officers arrived on scene, they located drug paraphernalia next to the decedent,” said Police Spokeswoman Dominique Sanchez.

Firefighters and paramedics performed CPR on the man for about half an hour, before declaring him deceased at 11:06am.

A deputy coroner then responded to the scene to take possession of the body.

“Paraphernalia at the scene was collected and booked,” Sanchez continued.

Turlock City News attempted to call the coroner’s office to get the decedent’s name and cause of death, but were unable to get through.
