At about 4:55pm Saturday afternoon, Turlock Police responded to a disturbance at Home2 Suites in the 1800 block of Lander Avenue.

The caller reported that a man later identified as Ramon Perez, 67, of Crows Landing, had dropped off an envelope with a powdery substance and an odd smell to the front desk, stating to give it to a guest who was in a room. The guest then came down to the lobby, however, the employee refused to give it to her and called police instead.

Perez then returned to the lobby and wanted the envelope back, however, the employee didn’t give it back and Perez began causing a disturbance.

As officers were arriving on scene, they spotted Perez leaving the hotel in a white 2021 Chevrolet Silverado, stopping him on the freeway on-ramp just around the corner.

Through the investigation, the envelope was determined to contain narcotics. Perez admitted to purchasing the narcotics in Modesto and attempting to deliver them to the hotel guest.

Perez was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on the charge of selling or transporting a controlled substance.

Three firearms were also located and seized from Perez’s vehicle before it was impounded, however, because he wasn’t a convicted felon and they were unloaded, there weren’t any additional crimes as a result of them.
