Man gets tased after lunging at police officer Saturday night

On Saturday, November 13th, 2021, at 10:15 pm, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported suspicious person in the 500 block of Angelus St, Turlock, for a male subject, later identified as Jose Cisneros, 40, of Turlock, in an alleyway hitting vehicles.

The first arriving officer located Cisneros in the area holding a wooden board in his hands. The officer ordered that Cisneros drop the board and surrender, however, Cisneros refused to comply and began aggressively yelling at the officer.

Eventually, Cisneros dropped the board but then began walking away in an aggressive manner and ignored repeated orders to surrender.

As additional officers arrived on scene, Cisneros lunged at one still in his patrol vehicle and then lunged at another one who was on foot. Cisneros collided with the officer who was on foot and both of them fell to the ground. Cisneros then began to batter the officer before he was ultimately tased to prevent further injury to himself or officers and to assist with taking him into custody.

Cisneros was checked out for being tased and medically cleared by American Medical Response on scene before he was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of resisting an executive officer with violence and battery on a peace officer in the performance of their duties.
