Man hit in the head with pruning shears and arrested after threatening neighbor with knife Wednesday afternoon

On Wednesday, July 13th, 2022, at 3:10 pm, the Turlock Police Department, Turlock Fire Department, and American Medical Response were dispatched to a reported aggravated assault that had just occurred at a residence in the 500 block of E F St, Turlock.

When officers arrived on scene, they found Rodolfo Ramos, 28, of Turlock, bleeding from the head. They were told that he was the suspect and thus he was detained in handcuffs at gunpoint for further investigation.

Officers began investigating and learned that Ramos had gone to his neighbor’s house and threatened the neighbor with a knife. In self defense, the neighbor hit Ramos in the head with a pair of pruning shears, which is what caused his head injury. Ramos then went to his own house and returned shortly after with a hammer. That’s when officers arrived on scene and intervened.

Ramos was treated on scene for his injuries and then ultimately arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm and possession of a controlled substance.
