Man leaving for work pistol-whipped early Friday morning

On Friday, February 17th, 2023, at 3:43 am, the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a reported robbery that had just occurred at a residence in the 1100 block of Mae St, Turlock.

When deputies got on scene, they made contact with the victim who reported that he had been confronted and pistol-whipped in the head by an unknown man in the open carport area of his residence as he was leaving for work.

As a result of the incident, the victim suffered a bump to his head. He was checked out by American Medical Response, however, refused transport.

Deputies checked the area for the suspect, however, were unable to locate him.

No property had been taken, so the incident is going to be investigated as an assault rather than a robbery.

The investigation remains ongoing.
